Default Issue taking Neoka as a wife? Possible Bug?

Hi! New here. I've been playing the game (ver. 1.6b7) for about two weeks and really, really enjoying it. I do have an issue, though. I was in the Great Forest zone and completed the quest for the Tree of Life and, later, decided to take the Quest to free the besieged castle from Ten. I completed the quest and decided, after having Feanora most of the game as a wife, I wanted to take Neoka as a new bride. I got the quest to get permission from either the Tree of Life or the Queen and completed it by talking to the Tree. However, upon returning to Castle Orinoko, I was given no option to take the princess as my wife. I have not freed the Queen's soul as of yet, but the quest said I could get permission from one OR the other. I looked at patch notes and found there's a fix to Neoka allowing her to have children, but nothing about the issue I'm having. I'm not sure if it's a bug or if I'm missing something. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Have you done the helping the tree quest, and have you talked to the king afterwards?

Yes. I had done the Tree of Life quests beforehand. I went and got permission from the Tree (and got a new tablet with recipe for the Falling Leaves person), then returned to the castle to talk to her father. Unless I'll supposed to go to the OTHER castle and talk to the elf with the Queen?

Edit: Nope...just talked to the male elf at the other castle and that didn't help either.

You need to finish the quest " Tree of Life Sprout" given by Tree of Life in order to get permission.

Bizzarre. I was given the option of asking the Tree of Life for Permission, though, and the Quest to get permission was checked as completed. I'll try finishing that Sprout quest and see what happens.

Alright...that seemed to work. After completing the Sprout quest, it had me re-do the whole ask her, ask her father, ask the tree bit again, then it finally let me take her as my wife.

I'd still submit there's a bug there, though.

i just completed the sprout quest but still didn't get the option to ask her to marry me. guess i'll have to hope that i still got an old savegame in which both the marry and the sprout quest aren't finished yet to avoid this bug... -_-

[edit]well... i just loaded a savegame where neither marry, nor sprout quest were completed and i tried asking queen violetta instead, to avoid the whole tree-thing. doesn't work either. -_-[/edit]

If I remember correctly you also have to ditch your previous wife before getting the dialogue if you hadn't already done that.

tried that too - no luck... although, i didn't try it with all the possible variations of trying to get married. and there are so many possibilities of when to ditch her, who to talk to after that and so on. how am i to know what is the right combination? i really don't want to spend (even more) hours on trying different things just to work around a bug in the game...

Getting permision to marry has nothing to do with ditching prevoius wife.
