Hi guys. I am new to flight sims, and while I have been reading up on all sorts of books about flying and how planes work, there are still many things that I don't know. I have completed the campaign on Realistic difficulty and can control my plane now without putting it into a spin every few seconds.
Anyway, I started playing the first single mission, also on Realistic, and I just can't shoot the enemy fighters down fast enough. Is there any trick to being able to take them down? Or do I just need to get better at aiming/shooting? I have skipped this mission and gone on to complete most of the other other single missions in the Battle of Britain, however this one is still giving me trouble. Thanks for any help! |

Just order your wingmen to attack the objective (down then up on the pad).
And just focus on whatever plane is closer to you. After that, there's only one left and that shouldn't be too hard. And when you're traveling to the objective area, don't be afraid to boost throttle up to 100% for a minute or two. |

My wingmen have epic fail every time I try this mission... No kills for those guys... I killed 3 of those bastards and the 4th was chased by my wingmen en some other spits didn't complete it...

Thanks for the advice Mr Buick. I finally got the mission done after a lot of tries. Oh and by the way, attack objective is down then RIGHT (not up).
For people attempting this mission, don't expect your wingmen to do anything. In the run where I beat it, I had to shoot down 3 of the 4 planes myself. In previous runs there were lots of times when I had 1 remaining that my allies didn't want to kill. I guess that part is just luck. After a lot of tries, though, you do get much better at aiming your shots. |
