Exclamation Serious HUD visibility issues.

Hi all,

Picked up a copy of BOP yesterday and am having a pretty major usability issue with the game to be honest. Half the time due to its colour I can not make out the target lead indicator due to it being white and rather small, any chance of giving the option to change HUD colour/scaling or something .. as this is driving me nuts.

Just be glad it's there...those world war 2 fighter pilots sure as hell didn't have 'leads'on their targeting! OR try sim first..you'll much appreciate that lead target being there in the other modes!

Seriously! I don't know how others play this on Simulator?

Being in cockpit view and trying to lead an enemy is almost impossible! You can't see the plane because its where your prop is! Maybe with A LOT of practice maybe

That's when we shoot! Really, it's not that difficult to see through the windscreen. And if you've ever fired a gun at something moving, you'll know that when you lead, you don't have to move to far when you shoot in front of it. And when your behind him, well that's easy

Well all i can say is the HUD is poorly designed, White is not the best choice of colour for a HUD by far, and its mind boggling why the devs thought it was a good idea.. i just dont get it. It has an effect on being able to see speed/throttle position and alt to as they are also white and kinda small to.

Anyone from 1C,or Gaijin care to comment or is this never going to be delt with and i should just deal or sell the game ? (which would be a shame as aside from actually shooting stuff due to HUD issues i find everything else about the game to be good)

That's why they created the Realism setting. You have little HUD influence, no deflection cursor on it, that I know of? And it's like Arcade, but a bit more difficult. Sim is where it's at though Nothing but your eyes and ears, and your ability at the controls.

So the solution to a feature ment to assist players like me who dont play flight sims all that often having usability issues is to turn it off, and also in doing so make the rest of the game harder in the process as well. doest make alot of sense that im afraid.

You know I think it may be easier to fly the real aircraft then fly on sim. Mainly because the visibilty in the cockpit view is very poor. It doesnt make it fun to fly when you cant see anything and its very hard to look around with the controls.

You make it seem like a bad thing. Challenges are sometimes fun to overcome, like my challenge of getting up in the morning, and going to work.
