I have read posts in this forum that windows 7 installation issues can be fixed by moving the game to a C:\games folder. I copied all of the files from the CD to C:\il2 then double clicked setup.exe. Nothing happens. Frankly, I'm not sure I am on the right forum because the CD is from UBISOFT, not 1C company. UBISOFT's forum says to run the "a" file on the CD,but there is no such file. I also tried setting compatibility to WIN95, which the CD says is supported. No joy.
Thanks for any help! ![]() |

as I said in the OP, the file "a" does not exist on the CD.

What exactly does happen?
Are you able to run the setup.exe from the DVD? Is it starting? And is it installing? Which version do you have? IL2 Sturmovik or IL2 1946? |

Nothing happens when I run setup.exe, even in WIN XP or 95 compatibility mode. It is the 2001 edition of IL2 Sturmovik. The same CD installs and runs on my other WIN XP system.

At this point you're probably better of getting IL2 1946, unless you have a very specific reason for sticking with the old version.
You can get it cheap second hand, get it via Good Old Games or get the "new" Ultimate Edition, which is the same as regular 1946, just not produced by ubisoft. |
