Default [Download] - CLH 37/39 skins for Slovakia

EDIT: CLH skins now uploaded to Mission 4 Today :

http://www.mission4today.com/index.p...etails&id=4415

A couple of preliminary shots of some reskinned J8A's wearing the markings of the Cetnicke Letecke Hlidky (Gendarme Aviation Patrol) used by Czechoslovakia for border patrols circa 1937-1939. A number of German aircraft were intercepted and forced to land by these aircraft.

The original aircraft were a variety of different Skoda, Letov and Avia biplanes. All bore similar markings.

I have been recently working on an Avia style laminated prop for these aircraft. This is an interesting prop as it is layers of wood bound up with a pair of cloth bandages on each blade with a brass strip along the leading edge. I am pleased with the overall result though the brass leading edge strip is still not looking quite right and needs work.

Looks great. Can you make also skins for S-328 from the period of Slovak National Uprising?

Thanks.

Its often tricky to find historically correct information but eventually I will be doing some Slovak National Uprising skins. My the current intention is to build up enough skins to start work on a campaign.

Too bad we did not get the wonderful Avia model that we were told was ready to put in the game.

Nice work on that prop!

Thanx, not that you normally get to see the prop but it was fun to do.

Yes, it was a great shame to waste all that work and an even greater shame because the B534 was produced in significant numbers and fought on many fronts (even attacking B17's for the Bulgarians) and deserved to be in the game.

These skin sets were inspired by the wonderful Slovakia map by Jurinko Jopo and Indy which is ideal for early war combat. Aside from looking awesome it was good to see a map where the terrain actually matters.

SOW and the modded BoB maps are all well and good but the terrain is little more than a gorgeously detailed background you glimpse far below you and set up screenshots on Slovakia is a map that you get to fly in rather than above
