Default Damage not shown properly?

I was just wondering if it's just me or someone else noticed this too

but sometimes when you attack a unit
the damage above it says like xxx and kills 2-5 or w/e

sometimes i am really noticing that when i attack a stack i will use a INQIsitor as example now

i have 30 ingi's trying to attack a stack of 50 skelli archers
I will see the damage above it being like xxx killing 40-48 skelli archers

but when i attack the skelli stack dies and then i'm flabberguesed like wtf?
there should be 10-2 skelli archers remaining because i couldn't kill them all

so then i was wondering ingi's get a bonus to undead. is this extra damage not calculated in the damage u really on skelli archers?
because this can become real confusing

and as a side note I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT A CRITICAL HIT

sometimes this also happends with other units I will try to upload a ss later

I have experienced that aswell. Seems to be mostly with humans and elves, so my guess is that the adaptable / known enemy boni they've given those aren't always calculated properly in the tooltip as opposed to the actual damage.

could be
I wonder what the coding around that is anyway

I will look if this also happends with other units
mostly it happends with ingi's

i will look if my demonologist will also do the same
or royal griffins

soothsayers do also the same thing and i'm pretty sure they don't have adaptation

Are you guys talking about "Berserker" skill (Viking/Warrior tree), where you have a chance to do double damage (this isn't a critical hit, nor is it guaranteed, but it doubles your damage).

Doesn't adaptation just raise your attack/defense stats? Or is that the "counter attack" bonus one?

Berserker is stated in the combat log when it occurs.

Yes, this is true. I wasn't sure if you guys were aware of it or not.

Maybe yet another bug. I don't use inquisitors, but you guys say it happens more often with them?
