Default Screen freeze in both 32 & 501 squadron campaigns

Slightly OT:I just got a new graphics card which runs a greatly improved game with very high settings, which is...all good...but recently have run into freezes with the log flights to fight found on some of the missions in these two campaigns. Both times they happened just as long flights from the London area reached the coast and enemy was about to appear. Both times my plane was on auto pilot & on 8X speed.at just about the time my plane got to the coast , the screen froze,as if caught mid spawning of German planes , but I can't be sure.
Both flights take a very long time to go from London to the coast& increasinf the Xspeed makes for a jerkiy & really not that quick of a decrease in time from regular speed.I'm assuming the PC has an awful lot to process on these journeys(?)
So what's the answer-drop the campaign? Go on to next mission? Decrease the settings? I wish my aerdrome was a bit closer to the Coast -it sure would save some time , but it would decrease realism factor...sigh....

Sometimes when i am testing missions with large formations its best to use only X2 speed. Some large formations at X16 will crash the game...

Alternative live like a real fighter pilot and fly all the way there in real time with no autopilot!

Can't say I've never had a freeze up, but they aren't common, for me at least. In building campaigns I run on autopilot alot at X16 speed while testing stuff and in my experience launcher exe crashes are more common (and those pretty rare now).

It's always worth checking temps while running game? (using something like CPUID HWmonitor)
You have a new graphics card- did you completely remove all graphics drivers before installing new card?- usually a good idea

The freezing- is it always the same mission/place in mission?
If it is let me know which mission(s) it is and I'll have another look to see if anything has changed in 1.08 (or are you running these on 1.05?)

PC certainly has a bit to do with these campaigns- they both like 100+ AC for some missions

Personally if this happens to me I refly the mission (maybe going to normal speed earlier- if you must use time acceleration )

I don´t want to give this thread a new direction but, anyway, I recognized a new experience in the posts above:

Flying the "Sealion" campaign for Britain I finally reached the last, 27th mission: Whenever I encounter the first enemy squadron near the coast of Le Havre the game freezes and I have to finish the game via Task Manager.

Is it the campaign? Are there too many planes especially in this final mission for my Intel i7, 2.9 GHz and/or the Geforce GT540M (yes, a notebook, nothing to complain so far from my side) with 8 GB DDR3 memory? (I don´t think so as I was in similar crowded skies before without freezes.)

Have tried this single mission several times and with always the same result.

I appreciate a good hint or the soothing news that this happens to others here as well.

Could fly 27th mission of Sealion-Campaign without problems today, even fps and temperature were good.

Maybe it is the latest ill-famed patch ?

MIGHT have found something in common with missions freezing.

Have only done this with 2 missions that cause a freeze at a specific point in a mission (still occurring in RC2)
What I'm finding is removing all ground vehicles in fmb (ships, trains, vehicles) seems to cure the freeze.

Needs more investigation as it doesn't seem to be a specific vehicle type and it doesn't seem to be related to vehicle collisions

Just downloaded and installed "32_Squadron". Flying the first mission I experienced a runtime error/black screen as soon as enemy planes were reported (not even in sight). No time acceleration - so even more frustrating to be kicked out of a mission that took so long up to here.

Please check my specs in the post above: it is a notebook, but never fails to play default missions and campaigns with high settings.

Should I simply forget about the more challenging hand-made campaigns?

just tested this(32sqn campaign 1st mission) on my rig- and also got a runtime error at a similar point

Taking a look at system events (control panel>system and security>admin tools>view event logs) there seem to be 2 events- a .net runtime event ID 1026
leading to an application error in launcher.exe ID 1000 with core.dll being the faulting module

Now I'm certain that this ran fine on 1.05
There was something on reverting dot net runtimes as a fix with beta patches but I can't find it atm (I had done this )

The 'good' thing about this is it looks like a reproducible fault so in theory it should be easier to fix.

Time to send crash dumps to Ilya again
ishevchenko@1cpublishing.eu

As to continuing with user made campaigns- well atm I'm testing a new 109 campaign and am not experiencing any crashes on that- I am wondering if this is Hurricane related???

For the record my rig is i7 920@4.0, 580 gpu (1.5gb), 6 fb ram win7 64bit running 1.08beta

Thank you very much, bolox.

I am kind of relieved to hear this is something that can be fixed. If you find a solution I very much appreciate the hint what to do.
