Default Men Of War: Assault Squad

Does anyone else here play this?

I just got it on steam with a deal (75% off ) and I have been doing some skirmishes with my brothers, its bloody good fun!

Compared to Company of Heroes the later lacks any kind of realism and barely any tactics whatsoever, really if any of you guys are in to RTS's you really need to give this a go.

Only thing I have to say is that there is a bit of micro management, but running out of fuel/ammo etc just adds tones to the atmosphere

I think they have free demo for some games in the series on Steam. Liked it.

I'm very fond of it. I enjoy the micro management and love that every guy has a name and a separate inventory. I get the most fun out of playing for the Russisn side. Nothing more satisfying than having a handful of your guys blow the track off a tiger and hide in its lee, picking off the crew as they emerge and taking the thing over. The Dgen mod is outstanding, as you get to keep all the meteriel you liberate from one mission to the next.

I have been playing the Men of War "series" (Faces of War, etc.) for a long time. They are brilliant fun. CO-OP is a blast too.

I own those games but I don't like micro management in a RTS. It would be better if you can pause the game.

Iit is odd that they had continued to esteem these qualities over those of other fighters in spite of the fact that they were of only secondary importance tactically. Thus it is doubly ironic that the Spitfire’s reputation would habitually be established by reference to archaic, non-tactical criteria.
