Hi, I've gotten back into IL-2 and for some reason my anti aliasing has stopped working. I figured it was possibly due to driver issues. However, I have tried reinstalling the 301.42 drivers as well as using older drivers that I know the AA worked with and still nothing. I have also tried using nvidia inspector to force AA on. I have reinstalled IL-2 and tried it both patched and un-patched.
I have noticed however, that if I switch from OpenGL to DirectX the anti aliasing works fine. I have no clue why this is happening, I'm pulling my hair out! Any ideas? Oh and I'm running xp-32 bit and an nvidia 250 gts. |

Using the program specific settings or global settings? I always used program specific..and still do. Also override the antialiasing rather than enhance... not sure if it makes a difference but I always do that.
I used to have a 250 GTS.. it can do it for sure. Maybe some newer driver is a problem.

Thanks for the help, but I have always used program specific settings and override. It used to work lol. I stopped playing for a year or so then I come back and it doesn't work anymore. I tried the 186.18 driver and it didn't work either, and I know it used to. Maybe there is something on my computer that is interfering with it.
I did set up freetrack on my computer in that period. I know that some people have had problems with anti aliasing and trackir, maybe the same problem is happening with freetrack? Edit: I had pacific fighters laying around (came in a bundle with IL-2 and Lomac) so I installed it and AA didn't work in it either under opengl. I wonder if its an opengl related problem... I'm installing the x-plane demo to test if anti-aliasing works in it. Gonna be about an hour and a half before its done though. Last edited by rcguru1; 06-14-2012 at 03:17 AM. |

I'm still on old drivers but what about FXAA everybody was talking about?
plus what do you mean by "I tried the 186.18 driver"? |

I tried fxaa and no luck. What I meant by "I tried the 186.18 driver" was that I rolled all the way back to that driver. I've tried other nvidia driver releases also. None of them seem to work.
I tried the X-Plane 10 demo (which is opengl) and forcing antialiasing didn't work in it either. It seems that my computer doesn't want to use aa in opengl. |
