Default Russian documentary on cold war bombers (English voiceover)

I just stumbled upon this in the related videos sidebar of youtube after watching a video tutorial for level bombing with the Blenheim in CoD.

It provides an outlook on the development of most (if not all) the cold war strategic bombers of the former USSR while mentioning contemporary developments in western countries.

It's episode 6 of an 18 part documentary called Wings of Russia and looking at the ending credits, it seems there's stuff about WWII as well. Hopefully the rest will also be dubbed in English, because i intent to watch all of them. It's not only interesting to see the different perspectives on certain issues, the main selling point is that it features loads upon loads of footage that i've never seen anywhere else.

The bombardier's station in a Tu-22? It's there (actually, i think it's the video's thumbnail displayed above). Pavel Sukhoi at his old age in a designer's meeting? He's there. Footage from the biggest ever nuclear test in history, the 50Mt H-bomb dropped in the Russian arctic? It's there too (and if you're in a hurry and want to see the fireworks, skip to the 37:20 mark). The episode is almost 53 minutes long.

I hope the rest of the series has English voice overs and is as rich in content, because there's some very interesting stuff in there, like Ekranoplans, different episodes for different eras of fighter development, helicopters, front line bombers and Sturmoviks, etc.

The guy's channel is full of Russian military documentaries (mostly, but not all about Russian/ex-Soviet stuff, for example, i caught a glimpse of a video about F-18s), but i don't know if/how many are translated. In this regard i'm luckier than you are, because the guy is living in Greece and has obtained his higher education here (probably an immigrant or repatriated Greek) and many of his videos feature Greek subtitles.

Just have a look in his channel, looks like a gold mine for history geeks like us

Edit: I'm just under the impression that the video section is for gameplay videos so i posted here. However, if this should be in the video section, tell me and i'll move it.

wow amazing footage! So this is the only video that is in english? TU-95 Bear was always one of my favorite planes, but footage of it is hard to come by. So cool!

It looks like the other episodes on the channel are also in English.

Edit: by episodes I refer to the 18 episodes of Wings of Russia, which was made with both Russian and English voiceovers.

Don't know about the other documentaries, but wings of Russia seems to be dubbed, for example:

I think it's part of the original DVD release and it was easy for him to upload (the accent hints that the narrator is a native Russian speaker). His other videos are mostly subtitled in Greek.

Just type "wings of russia bitnikgr" in youtube's search bar to limit the search within his channel and you get an episode list:

http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...l0.2.1.5-1l4l0

From that point on, you could also add "episode 10" or such in the search query to look for specific ones, in case you want to watch them in sequence.

Well worth watching if you ask me and it covers a lot of ground. There's probably roughly 15+ hours of footage there (18 episodes of 50+ minutes each).
