thankfully, no Porsches involved:
TOKYO (AP) — An outing of luxury sportscar enthusiasts in Japan ended in an expensive freeway pileup — smashing a stunning eight Ferraris, a Lamborghini and two Mercedes likely worth more than $1 million together. Police say they believe the accident Sunday was touched off when the driver of one of the Ferraris tried to change lanes and hit the median barrier. He spun across the freeway, and the other cars collided while trying to avoid hitting his car. Video of the crash aired by NTV, a major national network, showed several smashed, bright red Ferraris cluttering the freeway. Even a used Ferrari in Japan can fetch $100,000 or more, meaning the total damage may be $1 million or more. Police declined to comment on the total amount of damage, but said some of the vehicles were beyond repair. NTV quoted the driver of one of the tow trucks brought in to clear the scene as saying it was the most expensive crash site he had ever seen. |

Ha... funny thing is I would take a Toyota over a Porsche any day. Hell I drive one everyday and love it. But one thing I'll never drive is a damn Ford, thats for sure.

Well firstly I think porches are ugly imho. And a pain to work on. I helped my father restore a '74 911.. The way they're put together is beyond me. They're over engineered imho. Secondly Toyotas are simple and just work. My brother-in-law has a '92 toyota pickup V6 with 425k on the odometer with the original motor. Drives it 100+ miles a day and it just keeps on going. Also there is so much that is interchangable between so many models. I transplanted a 3.4L V6 from a '03 tacoma and put it in my old '93 pickup. Bolted right up. Simple. Now it's time for a supercharger!
P.S. - My throttle has never stuck. Ever. It was only the newer Camry model that had the issue I believe. I'll probably never own any thing new than '04 anyways so I don't care.

Well Ford did make two of the best gentleman's car in Eu : the Capri/Mustang and the Probe.
Was lucky to get the Probe at the time (Mazda V6 inside). one of my best drive for sure. .. Well to be honest until I had to bring it to the ford network for some mechanical work: 13000€ (yes you read it well) for a spare eng in France ->1200€ direct import from Japan with 40Hp more (on a 164HP basis) ! Thx Ford to let us down we poor Eu orphans ![]() Ford/Saab/Lotus are just the same sadly. Regarding the Traban : wld you believe that the constant drive transmission she had is on of the top tech item for the next generation of gasoline engine ?! ![]() Last edited by TomcatViP; 12-05-2011 at 11:27 PM. |
