any performance benefit to doing this?

No, it just load the game and missions faster. Doesn´t help the stutters.

Thanks Mad G. I think I knew the answer, but I thought I'd ask in case there was a new perspective since all the patches. Also I was not sure about the best wording for a search. "SSD and stutters"? or "SSD and terrain loading"? Your answer saved me a lot of time.
