Setting mixture levels?

Hi guys. I'm having real trouble programing keys that will allow me to change mixture levels - in the spit anyway.

I find I allocate a key to increase or decrease mixture (I use + and -) and all it will do is open mixture all the way or close it completely.

there doesn't seem to be a way to increase mixture 30 per cent, or whatever.

No because its not Incremental its either Auto Rich or Auto Lean. There is no requirement really to Lean mixture with altitude this is done automatically in either Auto Rich or Auto Lean. As the pilot you select the Mode and forget about it.

Auto Rich generally for High Power scenarios ... take off combat, climbing etc. If you need Range or Endurance then consider Auto Lean.... though frankly in COD at the moment there arnt any really long range scenarios that you really need to think about Auto Rich.

so for the spit it's either lean or rich? no in between?

Yes and the Hurricane as well. Think of the Mixture control as Mode switches .

Mixture ctrl seems to be working in the Hurri. I can really see the diff on my consumption.

I don't know if there is any diff in consumption coded. Mind you you would need to fly a very long test mission to be able to measure it.

By working what do you mean ? You can select Auto Rich and Auto lean just fine ... but are you saying you are manually leaning out incrementally with altitude and seeing progressively better power output ?
