That's not a bad price from Tamiya either.

I still have a 1/48th scale Tamiya Swordfish on the shelf that was close to that price when released ten years ago.

Not that I've done any modelling for a while, too busy flight simming!

I might do a bit now though, while we're waiting for various bits of CoD to be fixed!

Interesting to note the welcome return of the 'in flight' stand!

One of the things that annoys me about UK aircraft modelling is that they're all modelled on the ground.

If you tried to enter a competition with a model on a stand, you'd get laughed at.

One of those stupid unwritten rules.

Yeah I was a member of IPMS for a while. Every Tuesday night would turn up to the meetings and we'd discuss everything under the sun about what’s happening in the modelling world except on how to build great looking models.

Don't get me wrong they’re a great bunch of guys and wealth of info, but the meetings were too much about the decline of the brick's and mortar retailers, competition rules and how much someone had spent on after market detail kits. Very little was actually about building techniques and ideas.

To me it is an elitist club.

Bloody hell, that was fast. There was a very big gap between the Zero and the Spit. I did the Zero, the Spit is in progress (stalled actually). Think I'll give the Mustang a miss, but a 109 or 190 will be snapped up so fast they'll smoke.
