Unfortunately, you can't at the moment. Single missions and quicks are stuck at default but there is a way around the problem using 'notepad' and copying your preferred weapons loadout into the stock missions/campaign files (straightforward and works).
As you can see below, the stock single mission 'Bomber Intercept' in a Spitfire has tracers and a user defined weapons load out (which makes the Spit far more effective at downing bombers, etc). You can edit all the stock missions or even create variations using different weapons loadouts. If you want info how to do this let me know. ![]() Last edited by SEE; 04-21-2011 at 09:36 AM. |

There may be other ways but this is quicker than FMB and how I do it.
1. Create your weapons loadouts, name them and save. Make sure you save and press OK on each screen as you navigate back to the main menu. Or create weapon profiles using notepad (see below for details) 2. Exit CoD. 3. Using Notepad open the User.ini file in the following location > Steam - Userdata - 779773507 - 63950 - remote. * Check that your weapon loadouts are saved for the ac you created them. Example of user.ini for SpitmkIIa with user defined name below.........(CoD would never have used 'george' so has to be mine..lol) [Aircraft.SpitfireMkIIa] conv _Gun03 Gun.Browning303MkII 200 200 conv _Gun06 Gun.Browning303MkII 200 200 conv _Gun00 Gun.Browning303MkII 200 200 conv _Gun01 Gun.Browning303MkII 200 200 conv _Gun07 Gun.Browning303MkII 200 200 conv _Gun02 Gun.Browning303MkII 200 200 conv _Gun05 Gun.Browning303MkII 200 200 conv _Gun04 Gun.Browning303MkII 200 200 belt _Gun03 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 belt _Gun06 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 belt _Gun00 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 1 9 belt _Gun01 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 belt _Gun07 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 1 9 belt _Gun02 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 belt _Gun04 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 beltPreset george _Gun03 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 beltPreset george _Gun06 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 beltPreset george _Gun00 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 1 9 beltPreset george _Gun01 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 beltPreset george _Gun07 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 1 9 beltPreset george _Gun02 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 beltPreset george _Gun04 Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 9 ' 4. Copy your custom weapons loadout, eg, I will copy weapons loadout 'george' (in Red) to the clipboard. 5. Locate the mission file you want to use with your new weapons load out. These are identified as MIS files and located in:- a) Single missions are loaded from the My Docs CoD installation b) Quick Missions are loaded from the SteamApps 'Parts' folder structure. c) Custom versions of quick missions that you save are found in the My docs CoD intall (mission - quick folder) and these appear in your quick mission screen meneu as additional missions. Always back up your MIS files in case you screw up! When you click to open the MIS file select 'Notepad' or wordpad as the program to use for opening. (You will only have to do this the first time you open a MIS file) 6. In the Mission file locate entry 'Weapons 1' under the players ac. [AirGroups] BoB_RAF_F_602Sqn_Early.01 BoB_LW_KG51_III.27 [BoB_RAF_F_602Sqn_Early.01] Flight0 C F G U N B Class Aircraft.SpitfireMkIIa Formation VIC3 CallSign 26 Fuel 70 Weapons 1 Skill0 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 Skill1 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 Skill2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Skill3 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 Skill4 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 0.7 Skill5 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Under weapons 1 paste the weapons data from the clipboard then edit/delete 'preset' and profile name - leave a space before the underscore - change belt to Belt) it should look like this....... Weapon Presets Data This refers to Allied fighter Preset loadouts of which there are 13 - Axis may have more/less Gun.Browning303MkII MainBelt 2 8 9 11 the numbers in red identify which preset assignment to load for each gun. The values are 0 to 12 (each number corresponds to the order in the presets loadout menu). In the above you have Gun 7 loaded with 2 (Ball .303 cordite MkVII) + 8(Tracer Yell) +9(Armour Piercing) + 11(Incendiary/Tracer). . if you want to try different weapons in a mission just open the MIS file and change the mainbelt Presets value. You can do this while CoD is launched for quick no hassle evaluation of presets. Hit the Windows key - open the mis file- edit the 'Mainbelt' number(s) - save - re-load mission. Always exit the mission before edit. Same applies to User.ini file and probably easier to copy/ paste old profiles, rename, change values, etc and quicker to make changes to convergence values (but user.ini data is read at launch only). The mission files do not store the data regards convergence. It uses the convergence currently set in the weapons load out menu. The alternative is to create a whole range of loadouts with names and test them in FMB but some folks seem to struggle using it. Last edited by SEE; 04-19-2012 at 12:21 AM. |

are you sure you have entereed your new and saved weapons into the right weapons 1 loction?
The above duplicates the same process as using FMB which updates the MIS file using your saved weapons loadout identified in the FMB Objects panel. I have just (using the above method) added various weapons load outs to all the allied missions and all are working fine. Which mission did you try to change? copy and paste it , see if I can help.
