Having spent a good couple of hours now with COD I have to say I`m impressed with what the devs have achieved. The hefty feeling of handling the plane, the enemy formations over the water, the CEM, the `wobbly` gunnery really feel realistic and fresh.
What I think spoiled the first impression was the `guts` sticking out - the fonts of the radio comms, the grey table, the black lines - all giving impression COD was hasty undertaking....once I turned this b@/*^& off and cleared my view, this really looks and feels beautiful. Now, let`s wait for all the patches to come to omptimise fps, stutters and whatever and I`m sure in 3-4 months this DIAMOND WILL SHINE as it`s supposed to ! P.S. I think there`s learning in SH5 launch which has been brought to market in similar unfinished state. Now, with all the mods it`s stunning and I`m sure in COD case the devs will be able to do what modders have for SH5. |

I agree mate! I actually love it, need a new joystick to appreciate it more though, my Saitek Cyborg feels a little sticky.

I used to have that same problem. It sounds funny but you know what I did? I used twist-ties to bind up the centering spring. The joystick is now quite loose and floppy, since it has no centering force at all. The result is that I can't really take my hand off it during flight since it just flops forward, but it's sooooo much more accurate for flying. It used to be very challenging to make small adjustments. Real sticks on old planes don't really have a centering force anyway. Certainly not like most PC joysticks.

I've said it before but this sim has huge possibilities. I am still amazed by the lighting in the game, sunset is just incredible imo. It's great to see the long shadows from every tree etc, I've just been flying around looking at that lol. Even the trees look great (rustling in the breeze).
I just hope that the devs continue to get the funds to polish everything up into the diamond it's waiting to be. I think a few people have been short-sighted in flaming the game. Sure the teething troubles are a drag and annoying to the customers, but I'm sure the devs aren't happy about it either. |

I agree to some degree. I´ve also played several hours and got fun. But there were also moments where I wanted to blast something up (something else but my engine
![]() And thats annoying me. Its a very good game with huge potential but it lokks to me as if they got used to their aircraft and mission design that they forget about all documentation. I hope that tere will be more like checklists and briefings. See you in the Air |

Sure - as said, the game is still lacking in many departments, documentatin being one of them. But potential is there - hope the devs turn it into reality.

There is huge potential here, no doubt about it. I just had a 20 minute dogfight over the channel and I really enjoyed it. (Bugs and all.)
The new physics model is really good. The increased graphics fidelity is really something - it immerses you in the game like no Sturmovik game before...the lighting is amazing for one. The aircraft are really well modeled as well. That water is simply astounding. Now, with a few patches to sort out some rather serious issues, this sim will be mind-blowing. |

Whilst I agree with you on CloD.....
Please don't compare it to SH5. No one want's what happened to SH5 to happen to CloD. SH5 was crappy at release, was abandoned by the Devs/Publisher and is still crappy today. The mods are like makeup on a pig....sure, the pig looks better, but it hasn't changed it's nature. SH3 and GWX is still the gold standard in everything aside from graphics. |
