Default playstation premium

lot of rumours about sony charging for service fly around playstation network, to which there is a measure of truth. Sony do want to charge for some network services calling it a "Premium Package".
But before i hand out the link i feel obliged to say that this new service will not affect or replace anything we are currently recieving for free like online multiplay, playstation store etc.

I think that some of the things offered in premium are worth paying for and would like to see where they're going with it.
The AvP demo gives you the option to invite people from a chat group.... this has lead me to believe the next firmware update may include crossgame chat one of their so called premium features..... interesting.

That's more inline with what I feel live should be. IMO charging your customer to host and play p2p games is hella weak. That part should always be free, regardless of platform (dedicated servers are a different matter), access to the marketplace for demos etc should also be free. The rest should be in the subscription, friends list, party chat, invites, games that play on dedi's etc etc.

How do you guys comminicate when playing BOP on PS3 then? On Xbox we can form a party of friends or just meet and talk in the game lobby. I ask because I'm thinking of getting a a PS3 and would like to know the differences between the on-line experience. A big plus for me is that its free and I only subscribe to Xbox live for BOP (Which would be OK if there were more playing!)

Are there more than just a few regulars playing BOP on PS3?
