Default mouse lag problem

Suddenly, when I tried to play the game today, the mouse pointer was lagging(moving the mouse and the onscreen pointer slowly and belatedly follows), and the joystick controls were jerky and slow. The video display also stops and starts constantly.

Game is now unplayable because of the mouse and joystick lag. It had been working perfectly before, and I hadn't changed a thing. Computer works fine except with Sturmovik.

I uninstalled the game and re-installed it, but the problem remained. I can't figure out what is wrong. Any help??

That didn't work. Any other ideas?

Is your computer/graphics card over-heating (also a result of over-clocking). When did you last clean out the dust and fluff in the computer?

I uninstalled it completely a second time, this time using the Windows program uninstall in the control panel (instead of the uninstall on the Sturmovik disc) and also deleted the residual Ubisoft folder. Re-installed it again and the mouse lag problem is gone.

Still getting frequent frame freezes though.
