Default I'm confused

Hi,
I'm still struggling with the last tutorial mission (the one where the planes have no names above them and you don't have the external camera view) and I was under the impression that this was the Simulator mode.

However, reading through the threads, I see perople talk about Arcade, Realistic and Simulator mode. I play on the XBox and I was only aware that there was Arcade and Sim modes. Is there a 3rd 'Realistic' mode too?

The manual isn't very good at explaining things (it doesn't tell me how to set trim properly which I seem to be unable to do) and I didn't see any Realistic mode available.

Appreciate the help for a noob.

It's the order in which the difficulty tutorials are. The first tutorial you'll do will be Arcade, the second Realistic, and the third Sim. You can identify them by the star when you completed them: Arcade is a small bronze star, Realistic a medium silver star and Sim a big gold star.
Realistic is half-way Sim and Arcade: it has name indicators, boxes around the airplanes, but realistic flight models and no lead indicator (for aiming). Simulator is the hardest, with no names, no boxes, just visual identification, and realistic flight models. So in order of difficulty, easy to hard[list]
  1. Arcade
  2. Realistic
  3. Sim

Ah, I see now. Cheers Seraph.

Now I just have to get to grips with the word "STALL" which is still bugging me.

Best thing is just to ignore it. In a turning fight you'll always have those big red letters in your screen. The trick is to know when you're actually stalling, but you should notice soon enough.
