Hey all, didn't want to resort to begging, but I just can't get v-sync enabled in 1946 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, except in windowed mode, and was wondering if anyone knew of a fix.
I'm using the same nVidia drivers and user config that worked successfully with Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Have got v-sync forced on in global settings and the 1946 profile. Triple buffering's off in both. I can enable v-sync in DirectX mode, but then of course I lose all the OpenGL effects, which is worse than running in windowed mode. Using nHancer and RivaTuner to over-ride the nVidia control panel hasn't helped. I must have tried almost every possible combination of control panel settings but the screen tearing persists. Have re-installed using compatibility modes, from 4.07 clean off the DVD up to 4.09 and back again. Tried the latest nVidia drivers, but am currently using the 182.50 drivers that worked before, for compatibility with other programs. Had a look around the web but obviously haven't found any solutions that worked. Anyone else getting the same thing or have any suggestions? |

I'm running ATI and I'm having the exact same problem. It's only happening with IL2. Strange. It's odd that a simple upgrade from Vista to 7 could cause this problem in only this game.

Yeah, in my searching I've seen at least as many ATI users as nVidia users having problems. I don't know what to make of it. The fact that Microsoft is behind Windows and DirectX, and that DirectX and OpenGL are sort of competing, makes me suspicious about Windows' treatment and support of OpenGL programs. But, who knows.

Likewise with Win 7 64-bit I have no issues with applying Vertical Refresh (Ati-speak for v-synch) in the software and it working with IL-2. In OpenGL in Perfect mode. Could this be a UAC issue that prevents alterations to the software? I have UAC dialled right down to prevent it from blocking my adjustments.

Just incase anyone else has this v-synch problem in the future and does a search of these forums, the latest nVidia drivers 195.62 have fixed the problem for me. Did a test changing back and forth between the new drivers and the old and it was definitely some internal change within the drivers causing the issue, in conjunction with Windows 7.
