Default Real Sign of DOOM!

It is Saturday, 12pm and NO ONE is playing multiplayer in the ENTIRE world! Now that is a for sure sign that multiplay for this game has a cancer that is eating players away every day and even after a patch, if there is one and it addresses all the issues(which is VERY doubtful), this games MP will not last long.

Bought the PC, IL2-1946 and WOW!!!!! All the planes are there, no freaken greedy ass DLC scams, better flight and damage models, tons of players all times of the day and many more great features. Too bad the xbox 360 MP did not catch on and become as popular as the PC version...sad!

The difference is that the 1946 dev's actually cared about the product and the community.

saturday 12pm has never been a good time for this game .. for me anyways. I have 'never' been able to find a game before 18:00, even on weekend.

Not a sign of doom anyways, yesterday evening I played about 8 games sim TD with 6+ people

What I hate about IL-2 1946, is that most 90% of the servers have external views on. Thats what I love about sim in BOP, that you have cockpit/virtual cockpit only.

The 1946 servers that do have cockpit only, are a bit too hardcore for me (have icons off, and teams are not red/blue, so you cant really see who is who. and the have the speedbar off, so you need to watch that low detail cockpit airspeed indicator all the time).

anyways, playing some nice sim TD in bop now

Of 89 friends, 17 are online. Prior to IL2:BoP i only had 58 friends. The other 31 i met when IL2 was released, that 31 are the IL2 guys.

Of the 17 players online right now, 7 are the IL2 players i met. Of that 7 only 1 is playing IL2, and that is MorgothNL believe it or not

Of those 7 i've only seen 3 play IL2 in the last week!!

we need to face facts, the majority have gone and are going. I'll stick around but i dont see any epic fights happening anymore

Are you sure about that? When I check hyperlobby it's more like 90% cockpit only with NO external view.

And in the hardcore servers - bind a key to zoom, it helps ID a plane so you don't waste energy diving on teammates planes. Also, tracer colors can be a dead give away for many planes.

I play both server types- one of my computers has Track IR setup and I play full-real on that one, but prefer open cockpit on my PC at my other house because I don't have Track IR on it.

Game developers keep trying to convert the popular PC games to a watered down versions for consoles.
You can't expect such a game as IL-2 to be compared in any way to BoP. Hardware limitations will not allow it to happen.

The original IL-2 series community has had a long and hardcore following for many years. The mission builders and skinners are some of the most dedicated modders in the flight sim genre.
