Default your "nice" eye catching moments in game

Away from all the shooting and dog fighting etc, whats caught your eye as a nice moment, something you look upon and think to yourself "looks good" and makes you feel great?

For example........

We were in a huge furball over Dover, well the fight had dragged itself out to sea so we were fighting directly between Dover and Calais. It was authentic 1940 (well as authentic as the game lets you get) spitfire Mk2, Hurricanes, 109E, RAF v Luftwaffe (done a few of these now they are superb)...

While out to sea all dogfighting i checked my map to see a friendly dot moving away from the furball and towards dover, eager to see what was gonig on i went on an intercept course.....

It was a lone spitfire, billowing black smoke and in a bad way. Just ahead of him the white cliffs of Dover.

That wa smy "nice" moment. Seeing this loen spitfire in a bad way, "heading for home" their was just something about it that made me think about what it must of been like back then. So i did my part and i hung around in my hurricane staying with this spitfire to make sure he made it "home" It was a really nice moment.

Now i know that when he lands he cant re arm/refuel/repair, and ultimately needs to crash to get back into the fight. But it was stil la nice moment to see.

You guys have any?

Nice story mate.... This the kind of game I love and why I'm playing that game.

I have one that I remember well enough because it was one of my first online encounters. it was SIM mode.

The story takes place over sicilia. Don't remember the part of the map though But because it was a definitley a desertic landscape It could have been north africa.

I remember that game very well because it has the perfect setting that I love to play.
- it was my very first big game "4vs4" or "5vs5"
- and it was Brits vs Germans. Only
- It was limited ammo

I was on my small 109E. The fight was furious, with ball of fires all over the sky. I was stuned to see how intense was online playing. and surpsingly I did manage quite well.

At one time I was a bit lost whithout bandits to chase. You know that feeling in SIM mode when you are thinking "where the hell are they?" (I didn't know that using the map was crucial in online SIM mode at that time )

But then I saw a big bird crossing my view... It was a flying fortress just below me (I didn't notice it in the lobby and surprisingly it was Team Battle mode).

The first one that I see. and I had the perfect position to attack him. I thought to my strategy, diving right towards him and prepared my self, to escape, climb and start a new diving wave.

At that time, playing that game was really emotional for me, I was so excited in my 109... I was the bird of prey

I started my dive. The B17 spotted me and started to defend itself. Knowing that one wave won't certainly be enough to shot im down, that my 109 was weak, and according to the fact that I had limited ammos.. I was ready for a disappointment.

So I waited to be close enough to him to fire... But when I release my burst, I saw one of his engine blow into flame.

I shot down my first flying fortress I was so excited.

I even looked at the scoreboard to see if I got extra points with that kill or even a special reward

The special reward was the satisfaction of downing a flying fortress thats enough to boosts anyones ego and morale you do feel good shooting one down. Though i usually end up looking like swiss cheese after my attack haha

Great read though i enjoyed it. Things like this are what makes this game stand out amongst other things. You cant really get moments like this is call of duty etc.

I know how you feel about your first sim game though and not realising that the map is a huge help... i was the same my first time round. Got seperated from the fight and i felt panic set in, i couldnt see anyone!!! but was worried that they could see me and i was about to get jumped any minute.. those few seconds felt like hours!!

think my favorite moment must have been when i was flying a Blenhiem and a 109 was all over me, called out for help and some guy on my team shout "break right" turn as tight as i can and a spitfire roars past and cuts the 109 to shreads.

This one time I was flying a strike match, and almost everyone on my team picked a bomber, and the other team had a B-17. I'm more of a bomber guy myself when it comes to strike, but I knew we would be crushed if we didn't have some fighter support.

I picked the 109 E-3 (I wanted to work towards the unlock for the he-111-h3). Now an E3 going up against a B17 is not great odds, but I held my ground and had damaged my enemy pretty bad. He was almost within range of doing huge damage to our targets, and I had taken some engine damage and was having trouble keeping up.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, my squadmate dives on the B17 and finishes it off! The last thing on my mind was to call him a kill stealer of something ridiculous like that, I was so pumped we took down the B17. I wish I had my mic to thank him, but we ended up winning the match so that may have been enough.
