Default Which is the best view for targeting enemy?

Which view do you find makes targeting the easiest?

3rd person when tight on a bandits 6, Vitrual Cockpit when dicing and trying to get on his 6. I use the VC because at times when turning your plane can block the view of the target completely, rendering the lock on button useless.

It depends. Mostly I use third person, but I have to say cockpit is the best when your really trying to target an enemy because...

The reticle is easier to see than the small white one in third person/VC

I find you don't appear to sway as much in Cockpit as you do in 3rd person

BUT, this doesn't count the soviet planes for me, IMHO they have terrible reticles, they are way too big and block most of the target.

Cockpit for me, even though the wings and cockpit block a large portion of the sky (obviously) I actually find that the wings, windscreen, tail etc help me keep tabs on where I'm looking, sorta like little reference points. I love tracking an opponent who I'm in tight who slips below me and having to tip a wing briefly to get a look at his heading and any moves he may make!

Cockpit is very importent when in a dog fight looking around, you could easly lose your heading in no cockpit veiw and hit the ground. So if your wing tip and you hear no sound, rudder 30 the other way around.

HauptmannMolders you fly sim right?

I tend to use cockpit view most of the time, but having tried the Virtual cockpit I find that I can stay on the enemies six easier and anticipate where he is going easier with a full screen to work with, and hence finish off dogfights quicker. 3rd person view i seem to find it harder to get my sights lined up for some reason.

That's because you've got to get close, and it won't matter because they'll already have filled your sight! And then the rest is history

Cockpit for me, always.

Actually, I would recommend map-view......until more realism controls are given.
