Default Friday Official Update, July 27, 2012

Hello everyone!

We’ve just fixed the last major bug about five minutes ago. We are building the new patch right now, but we’d like to keep it in for Monday just in case something else comes up. We’d really like to avoid releasing it with some other unforeseen issue.

The good news is, the latest build incorporates a new optimization feature that deals with effects and clouds and increases FPS with barely any loss to graphical features. Setting Effects to Medium or Low in Video Settings will really smooth out the game. Some comparison screens are attached.

And finally, as usual, some shots from the upcoming sequel.

Have a great weekend!

Good news about the patch. Increasing fps through clouds and dust will really help. The only slight change I see in those pics is the cockpit glass shine doesn't look as sharp. I think I can live with that if it gives me some more fps through the clouds and on the ground with dust and smoke.

The sequel shots look nice. The fall terrain keeps getting more detail added. I see some green bushes in there mixed in with the trees now, looks more realistic with the different colored trees.

The river bank areas look better that CoD but the textures look a little low res. But WIP. Nice work! The IL2 looks great in that one shot in the sunlight on the wings. Really shows off the detail of the model.

Thanks for the info, B6.

... but methinks someone will regret these words...
