Is there any way for onboard arty units to do indirect fire?

Is there any way for onboard artillery units such as Brummbar to perform indirect fire? If not, what's the point in including them? I'm trying to get through the 'wacht am rhein' mission and getting incredibly frustrated with the brummbar units since the offboard artillery and mortar is insufficient to take out the allied artillery.

Depends on the game, on-board artillery is capable of indirect fire in Africa and Kursk (ToW2). You can't order them to fire indirectly in ToW1.

Thanks, I'm playing the original so I guess I'm s.o.l. That's too bad as it makes them pretty useless in the game.
