Default BoB Sequel in the works already...can we have this one working first please?

From today's update:

"Marina Kurdyukova, our MAI-educated 3D modeler who continues to create great-looking 3D models for BoB’s sequel."

That must be a very lonely job with everyone fixing this one?

I totally understand that they are working on side-projects. Basically the 3D modeller is doing stuff, probably not only just to add more things for the future, but to give the community glimpses of what's in store and further boost the marketing value of IL-2 sturmovik NG (next generation) :p

i still HATE that they dropped the storm of war title. renaming it IL-2 over again is just... weird :p

3D modlellers make 3D stuff.. they don't code AI or work on the sound engine. They also get paid every week and once they finish the current project they move on to the next one. People can't be sitting around doing nothing. This game is planned for the long haul and to be successful they need to keep to the plan. Continually work to fix and improve the base code while developing new content.

After one project finishes (no matter what state that's in), the next one begins. That's how business works. There is no money in making what's already been sold better.

You'd rather these guys were fired?

With luck, the framework from this project is also being used for the next one, and when that is being made the framework can be made to work better for the previous one too (I think that's what happened with IL*2 as was), but that's not necessarily the case.

+1 to Jagr's post, although there are a number of BoB A/C which would definitely fit in the game (A Hampden, anyone?)

Just take the statement as a comment about CoD's longevity and that they are working to fix things. To me it's a confidence boost that things aren't dieing on the vine as many predict. Their plans are to continue. Good enough for me ATM.

You don't REALLY think they'd release a sequel without a good working base in CoD? Patience MP.

Send the 3d modellers to programming night school.
They can be like a utility infielder. They are capable of doing a do a few different jobs. They can take up the slack when a programmer is on vacation or on sick leave.

Yeah and then you end up with a bug fest... Let these guys work on what they know best, and things will workout in the end!
