I was descending from great height on a 109 on MP Team Dogfight and noticed he was in a tight turn and on the tail of a Hurri. I then heard my team mate say "Ive go a 109 on my tail!" to which I replied Its ok, Ive got him!" after which I subsequently latched on to the 109 and proceeded to shoot his wings off! That to me was a truly beautiful moment and after that I was sold! BTW the Hori kicks ass!

Last night I was playing MP with one other player, I was in a Hurricane, think he was in a spit. The weather was set to Storm... we were going round in circles under the clouds in the snowy haze, then he climbed steeply out above the clouds into the bright blue sunlit sky, I followed on his tail and gave him a squirt, sent him flaming back down into the clouds below... truly epic moment.

I just played a quick match with some guy, I was flying the I-16, and he was flying the 109G2, and I got him into a quick turning fight. I don't think he's been or even knows about these forums since, I broke into his turn, and unloaded into his aircraft. It was cool. He wasn't very skilled, and even those playing Arcade who come here, know something about what others have said about turning with a I-16. Don't turn with a I-16

mine would probably be the satisfaction of when i was in a 1 on 1 dogfight and fired all my ammo in about 1 minute and severly damaged his plane and then managing to stick on his tail for the remaining 9 minutes with out him taking a single shot at me. i wonder what he would have done if he realised why i hadnt fired for 9 minutes.

I was in a 109F4 against a Yak, he was on my tail, unloading into me pretty good. I went into a wing stall, spun, he flew by, and I corrected my plane and unloaded into him just as he was going by. Blew him to pieces! I got the bacon delivered for sure!

Wow, did I just have an interesting little match. I was flying the I-153 Chaika, against some guys 109E. I can out turn, and maneuver faster than he can (I-153 Chaika can do a 180 turn in 8 seconds flat in real life, and in game.) I couldn't chase him, so I made him come to me. When he tried to dive down on me, I turned out of his way, he went past, and started to climb. I opened up with my little MGs, and just tore into him. He got away sadly, but as I was climbing a bit, he came back around. Missed me again, but this time for some dumb reason, I followed him down, and my engine cut out. I was totally screwed at this point. No way of restarting my engine, and low on fuel/ammo. Lucky for me, I stayed in the air long enough, for him to come around again, his bullets flying over head as he pushed the stick down, and tried to get away again, but I unloaded all I could into him, and this time sent him screaming to the earth.

What an amazing flight that was. Probably be topped in my over all Top 10 list of amazing combat sorties on the Il-2 series?

Its truly a stunning game. I had a hell of a scrap 3 days ago where after downing 3 EAs a yak something or other latched onto my arse and would not let go. After trying everything in the book to lose him for about 5 minutes and him making some good size holes in my wings I nosed down slightly to avoid his fire at about 1000 ft then went into a steep climb to about 10000, my Spit performed this beautifully. I Immelmanned out at the top and couldnt see him so I went back into a steep dive where after a few seconds I saw him hurtling upward still in pursuit of my climb. Only had a split second before we made a close high speed pass of eachother during which we both instinctively fired, just after he flew passed I got the kill confirmation on my screen, looked back and he was going down in flames. All I thought was "he's gonna be well pissed off!"

I've had so much fun with it. Some moments of unintentional comedy from the AI too. I was doing the night flight mission in the IL-2 where you have to shoot down a few waves of JU-52s. So I target one of them and send my mates after it while I go after the other two quickly despatching them. Safe in the knowledge that my friends will easily be able to take down a lightly armed transport plane in their flying tanks I go off after the next wave.

On my way I have a quick scan at the map to see if I can get them to join me and notice that they're still after the solitary transport only by now they're fewer in number. So I spin around, hit the WEP to catch them and find my remaining wingman sat right on the tail of the thing being slowly but steadily shot to pieces and either not even trying to shoot him down or doing so incredibly badly. Just as I manage to get my guns on the 52 to try to save him he turns into a fireball and plummets to the ground.

Playing dogfight today flying the Spitfire MKII over Dover I done a split to come into the six o'clock of a BF109-G. Firing a short burst it was easier to hit him than miss and sure enough I MISSED!

This then turned into a game of cat and mouse which lasted the final 5 min of the match but it was a complete blast reaching altitudes as low as 100ft over and below the cliffs of Dover

I had to message the player afterwards and congratulate him on some great defensive flying
