Default Hi guys, tried the demo, one problem, one question

OK, I`ve had the demo for a few days now, and this could be a great title to add to my collection. I don`t mind that sim is a very difficult mode to fly in, it wouldn`t be a sim otherwise, but there is one gameplay/control snag that is stopping me from really getting into it and enjoying the full experience - the `look around` feature.

As it stands, to look around you have to hold down the right stick button and keep it held down while looking about you, and all too often the rudder and throttle have been engaged while I`m looking around for enemies on sim mode. It just doesn`t make sense that you have to be skillful and dextrous in order to just look around, when you need all that skill and dexterity to fly the plane. It would be a lot easier to look around if you had complete freedom of the stick, so why not make it one click of th RS button to disengage the rudder and another click to engage it? That way there`s no need to reconfigure the buttons, just assign a different command in the code.

Anyway, it`s great to see you`re taking feedback, you can tell a title is made with passion when that is so. One other thing, will multiplayer be arcade, realistic, sim, or all of them? I fear empty rooms on sim.

Definitely agree on the click down the right stick to look around thing. It is almost impossible to track an enemy and manoeuvre at the same time. I think either the rudder and throttle should be moved, leaving the stick for the camera only, or there should be a lock on that works for line of view only and loses the enemy if you break direct line of sight, and only has a limited range etc. Something like that should be good enough to last until Natal comes out and hopefully gives the 360 version TrackIR like abilities. Don't know what the PS3 players would do, but someone suggested mapping the camera to the SIXAXIS motion controls.

Multiplayer will have options for any of the difficulty settings, and additional ones to limit fuel and ammo. Hopefully the Clan scene will keep Sim alive, and I for one will be playing it.

I think the sixaxis would be great for the hat switch.

I`m fine with the controls where they are, it`s just to easy to engage the throttle, especially in a dogfight.

They could make arcade the player match version without leaderboards, that might encourage more people to take up realistic and sim

How does the look around feature work with a stick?

The Aviator has a separate hatstick on top of the stick itself which controls view independantly of power and rudder. I would imagine the Ace Edge/Hori, which is the only other 360 flightstick, works in the same way.

I am aware of the hat switch on the flight sticks.

What I want to know is, how it works. How is the movement? Is it hard to keep in one place?

I heard that looking with the controller is hard because it always wants to return to center.

I have a Thrustmater HOTAS and the hat switch is on the thumb side of the stick, left side. I have a ps3 so haven't tried the demo but in the manual its mapped to that button, should be vastly superior to using the ps3 controller's R3. I had a hard enough time using R3 to knife guys in COD never mind accurately looking around!
