Default Guadalcanal Campaign

This campaign consists of 45 missions with historical background. All major events are reflected in these missions.

Here is the link:
http://files.filefront.com/Guadalcan.../fileinfo.html

The missions have been consolidated over four years and there are about half million objects. Yes 500'000.

I hope that you will find this whole campaign as immersive and enjoyable as I did find it. More details are in the embedded Read Me file.

You need a serious rig to get the maximum of this campaign.

Your comments are welcome.

does it use the new maps with the improved terrain textures from the slot mod ?

either way it would be a nice set of missions, but using the improved textures and maps would be a bonus

Zapatista unfortunately it does not use the Slot map.
I became aware of those mods work much too late and so it was not possible to start all over again. Too much work.
I am doing a film which will use thet map.
On the other hand everybody with the original IL2 1946 Patch 4.09b software can play the missions.

sounds like you did a huge job

is there somewhere a bit of a description of the campaign, maybe with some screenshots of some of the bases etc ?

how did you endup with 500.000 object ? sounds like there might be detailed maps and airfields you made yourself, and maybe various ai animations at airfields etc ?

Half a million objects sounds impressive in as much as it must have taken a very long time. How much time did you spend on the mission briefings? I always find that poorly written and unengaging briefs are the thing that puts me off many user made campaigns.

Edit: That's a lot of palm trees!
Oh, and just to let you know, do not leave any spaces when you title the campaign folder (Guadalcanal Final Version). It should read, Guadalcanal_Final_Version or similar. The game won't pick it up otherwise.

Please find here under a new link to the campaign folder:

I corrected one or two dates in the briefings.

You can find the Read-Me file with the following link:
