Elf maiden and children (spoilers)

I was married to the frog bride, dumped her for the elf maiden. My question (problem) is I talk to her about children but she never seems to give birth. Is this a issue?

This was reported as bug in teh atari version but fixed in 1.6.4 (non-atari version).
