Default Undead army : which items ?

Hiho,

I ended Hard game with a mage, and i'm trying to do a new one on impossible with a warrior. I would like to create an undead army.

Actually I'm not on Liberty Islands and only have cursed ghosts and blue vampires (13, can't have more).

So, which tips could you give me ?
Do you have favourite places to buy undeads ?
Which items do you try to found for good undead combo ?

Thanks,
Avariel

Actually I did normal difficulty playing mage (lvl 29 by the end), my army was 80% undead and when i got Necromancers it was 100%
My items dedicated to Undead were:
1) Vampire Ring - bought it from the ghost ship in Freedom Islands, but on my second play there wasn't any so it's random item
2) As a wife - undead Rina, no other choice
Well to be honest there were only 2 things
For skills, max Dark Commander ASAP. Get also Reserve skill, it's very important for ghosts: they have an ability to drain souls even OVER their maximum leadership. So after every fight I had to move some into reserve, just to keep room to leaderhip limit, eg. you can have 100 but start combat with 85. This way you'll be able to control them after few first strikes. By and game, I had ~2000 both types in reserve, and only money i spent was first stack bought in the beginning
My units were Vampires and ghosts, both in upgraded and -non versions (+ necromancers later, i used Inqusitors before becouse they resurrect themselves). Ghosts are easily avaible, but vamps are tougher. If you're lucky, they will be avaible in castle on Swamp. If you're not, they will be avaible a bit later:
1) undead dwarven necromancer
2) in Death Land there is plenty of Undead includnig Necromancers and Death Knights
These vampires you mentioned you got from the coffins in swamp area. So, if there aren't any avaible at ventors, you can get some with "Sacrifice" spell of Chaos magic, but it's not easy to obtain this spell in the beginning.
