Smile Get your Blenheim Wings with this new mission

Best A/C deserves a better mission than "cross-country". Fly this mission "as is" and start 'cold and dark' in the hangar with quick easy taxi to the runway.

If you want quick air-start action, you can select Tiger Moth, and change to fighter of your preference. Another option is to select Blue and go strafing.

I did a lot of work to make this world look alive, including parked A/C with proper markings.

These 4 files go into C:\Users\Pilot\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\missions\Single

Enjoy!

Thanks. I'll save it and try later when I've exhausted my curiosity with other planes.

Could you give an outline of the type of mission and what to expect, or would that be revealing too much?

Very much appreciated. The Blenheim is my favourite and it is a shame the has been so little for it to do.

I made this to have a fun way to practise starting and flying the Blenheim, rather than using the sterile, empty "Cross Country" quick mission, which now has you on the runway with engines already running -- taking all the fun out of it. The mission objective is to simply demonstrate competence in CEM of this amazing aircraft.

With my mission you will know that you did a good job of starting, warming up and leaving the hangar if you see the other Blenheim on the runway prior to it taking off. Hint: your fuel is less than 50%.

It is a very quick and easy taxi straight out from the hangar to the runway.

Then you can follow other Blenheim around in a clock-wise circuit around London for about 20 min, and land back where you started. There are 3 bandits and 3 Heinkels passing by (you'll hear about them on the R/T), but they won't interact with player if CEM is used in the Blenheim. They don't have any ground targets. If you have CEM switched off and try to set a world record of fastest time to get a Blenheim airborne, you are setting yourself up to be an easy target

BTW there are over 20 trains roaming around England, mostly in and around London.

Also, from the briefing you'll see in the mission screen, other A/C are available for player to select:
Red Alternate: Tiger Moth in flight over Northolt.

Blue Alternate: Flight of up to 12 A/C heading south (one fighter group and one bomber group). A plethora of potential targets, ground and air, if choosing to fly Blue in this mission.

Spitfire Mk.II's have no fuel, parked for decoration only. This is my solution to the "unmarked static A/C" problem.

I wonder if its worth adding any shipping along the French coast. For those more belligerent types.
