Default Prop Feathering

I have "F" assigned as my prop feather button. Tried it in the Bf-110 and He-111, but no luck.

Anyone been able to get a prop to feather?

Actually it sort of is.
You can change prop pits to feather position.

I have certainly managed to get the props to rotate at only about 30rpm despite my aircraft doing over 100mph but not zero rpm.

Sorry, but I believe 0% pitch does not mean to feather the propeller. To feather the prop means to position the blades totally parallel to the air flow so they do not create any drag. And so prop does not rotate by the relative wind created as the plane flies.

Feathering is only used in case of a totally lost engine (broken or hit by enemy fire) or being stopped on purpose for fuel saving.

And it seems not to work in any plane in CloD, IMHO.

Sorry for my English, I hope to have it explained clearly.

Hmmm... they will turn even if feathered, and still generate some drag. To see a frozen propeller, is to see a seized engine.

I think this is a very good and important question.

Also, a very difficult one to answer correctly.

Without it, it ruins the reality of realistic multi aircraft flying.
(sooner or later you ll lose an engine...)

Any expert thoughts?

thanks, zol.

Actually, I tried it myself a couple of times.

After thoughtfully binding relevant keys I started testing with an HE111 as I want to fly Desastersofts (FA Galland) campaign in KG53.

Nothing seemed to work. As I frustrated started hammering my keyboard on the binded keys, suddenly the right engine feathered. The prop stopped turning and the propblades were in right angle to the relative wind/direction of flight. The rpm showed 08:30 (feathered).
Unfortunately I made no screens that time.

Today I tried to redo that, if only to show that it IS possible...

I was not as succesful as last time, but again the right (tried both) engine almost feathered before I had to ditch.

The notes for the 109 in the book says to push the prop pitch leaver down to "Segelflug" to feather the prop.

No word for the 110, could it be similar?
