Suddenly this evening my game wont start. I get the cross hair icon and then straight back to desktop.
I updated my Nvidia drivers this evening to 306.97 (latest official driver). Installed without issue. I have verified local files.. all were upto date, changes made. Deleted my cache.. no difference. Deleted my Nvidia CloD profile.. no difference. Re booted pc... Deleted entire 1C softClub folder from MyDocs.. no difference. Rolled back driver to 301.xx.. no difference. Anyone had trouble with these drivers? I'm a bit miffed on what to do? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Last edited by MadTommy; 10-25-2012 at 09:23 PM. |

Cos you were messing around with user .ini and other files?
Maybe files are their they just have errors in them? |

Just as i had run out of ideas i found the log.log file in cloD.
It led me to the injFX_Settings.h file. I commented out the #define USE_ANTI_ALIASING line and for some unknown reason stopped the game loading. ![]() Nothing to read here.. carry on! ![]() Code:

Glad you found the answer, MadTommy.
![]() Question: I'm not very 'puter literate, if you hadn't noticed that comment-out error....would a Steam File Integrity Check have found it and put it right? Or would what you found fall outside the Integrity Check's capability to fix?

Weird thing is I've commented out this line in the past without issue. I found it by doing a date modified search and there were only 3 files edited since i last played..one was the log file and the other was this one.. so I undid this seemingly harmless edit in desperation of a fix.. and viola it worked. ![]() |

The file would be found and ticked off the list by steam. You would have to delete the file and let Steam rebuild it (thats why they are in the steam file also, -as templates). As I knew Tommy had been messing around these files that was what i was referring to...
