Toning down the hypersensitive elevator trim

Anyone give me some advice on how to tone down the elevator trim, since last release patch, it's like it's 10x too sensitive. Even using the keyboard, a single push of the button, which moves the trim wheel maybe 1/10th of a turn on the 109, throws your plane's nose far too high/low. It's even worse with the X-52's throttle thumb wheel, I simply cannot trim the aircraft out at most speeds.

I've tried adjusting the slider all the way left and all the way right in-game controls, neither seem to help. I can't seem to find anything in the Saitek CP that allows me to adjust the sensitivity of the wheel, but perhaps I'm missing something?
