Hi
I recently downloaded ClOD from Steam. When I click "Play" a dialogue box comes up saying "Preparing to Launch IL2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover", but nothing happens after that. My PC is completely up-to-date. Any suggestions? |

If you could put pc specs up it would help alot. If you don't have enough ram , could be a reason . waiting to hear back

Do you have Steam running?
Do you get an orange gunsight reticle? Does it just minimize and go to the task bar? Last edited by Troll2k; 08-03-2012 at 04:12 AM. Reason: fat thumbs |

1) Yes 2) No 3) No. It just doesn't start at all. It doesn't even show in the task manager even for a second. By the way, I am using the Windows 8 Release Preview. Could compatibility be the problem? I have older games (also on Steam) which work fine so I don't see why COD wouldn't work. |

Do you think it will be patched after W8 is officially released to become compatible?

Hello,
I had a similiar problem just now. When attempting to launch the game the reticle icon appeared, my steam status showed me playing the game for a few seconds until it disappeared and nothing happened. I've heard some other people experiencing this too. For me the fix was to run "dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64" which reinstalled NetFramework4, found in clod folder\redist\DotNetFx40_Client\. The problem seemed to appear out of nowhere so I hope it won't return... But its good for now! Sokka specs: Win7 64-bit sp1 AMD Phenom II X4 955 ~3.2GHz 4Gb RAM ATI Radeon HD 5770 |

It should give the option to "reinstall" or "repair" it. It could be that our problems are caused by different things, but good luck anyway!
