Heyo,
Just curious i mean we've all been waiting for ages and their certainly working their ass over at Oleg's office but wouldn't someone agree that we've seen very and i mean very little material from SoW Battle of Britain over all?, Either it's just a smart move to get people intrested for an awsome game or their not simply at a stage were showing of ingame movies yet which would probably mean the game ain't even half finished after such long time ![]() Don't take this as a whining thread please ![]() |

There are three "eras" of SOW:BoB information:
- The first dates from around the time of forgotten battles (before pacific fighters delayed BoB) and includes only pre-renders. - The second includes several interviews, a large number of non-game engine shots and videos (eg. showing cockpit animations) and a couple of videos taken from the alpha build of the game. - The third consists of the new monthly or bi-monthly updates and answers to questions that you see in these forums. I think we are all eager for the time when there will be many in game movies or after-action reports from beta testers. Clearly that time is not yet. Now how about we cease worrying about development delays and instead just wish Oleg the best luck and conditions. |

Well, Oleg has actually answered a LOT of questions here in this forum. That makes the desire for in game images even worse
![]() I Oleg cannot provide images or videos, a list of all the planned features would do it in the meantime... ![]() |

Maybe we should just start making a list and then let him come along and correct us?

Eg. Damage model:
- Ability for shock waves to throw objects (eg. barrels which roll around) - Theoretical ability to have elastic objects (eg. carry wires, wire fences) - Damage model will be more detailed (eg. take into account impacts on individual spars) but will otherwise be similar to Il-2 - Structural failures will be possible. But it is unlikely that deformation will be (with the exception of wing warping which will be modeled) - Machine gun impacts will be drawn on the model in real time but cannon impacts will be precut (like in Il-2) - A more advanced damage model will exist for vehicles that will allow them to be disabled and potentially paves the way for a tank sim. Nothing is known regarding whether buildings will be collapsible or flammable. By the same token ships and trains are unknown - It will be possible to kill enemy pilots/crew but there will not be a visual representation of damage to human tissues (in order to comply with ratings systems in some European countries) - As in Il-2, it is very likely that "Taran" ramming attacks will be possible as will bouncing bombs off hard surfaces - Modeling of the effects of wind and water on fires is still an unknown, the same goes for the modeling of damage inside the cockpit (eg. individually drawn bullet holes, smoke), furthermore we do not know if the players movement using the new six-degrees of freedom modeling will effect their vulnerability to bullets (eg. the pilot using the engine block as a shield while attacking bombers) |

And maybe we should all remember that it is not up to Oleg. He has his contracts with UBI and as it was said again and again, UBI has not yet agreed to publish informations for various reasons.
One certainly was the fact that there were deals going on between 1C and Atari for publishing, but it seems SoW is not effected by that. But what SoW directly is effected by, are the other simulations that will stand in direct competition. And the less Oleg presents to THEM, the less they know what is going on and where to improve to beat Oleg. Now, if you can come with only half as many informations about the sequel to CFS or the game Shockwave is working on, than we already got about SoW, I'll gladly join your march. Or what about Knights of the Sky? As long as there is no information from that side, why do you all demand news, because "we deserve" or something? |

All my local games shops have said its not being released and have canceled all pre-orders. I doubt whether this is the case but the original release date was nearly 2 years ago so you cannot blame them for thinking that its dead.

It does seem strange that it has been in development for so many years and still no in game vids or screens. (yes we've seen some, but Oleg his self says it looks much better in game engine). Unless the release is still years away, I think they will find themselves in between no information and the bargain rack.

Word completly agree. It's as stated abit strange we've really seen so little ingame at all counting that it's been in development for a long long time so it's probably pubishing etc holding em back or their not simply at a stage yet were they feel it's anything to show off which would mean we've still YEARS to wait ^^. |
