Default Game won't launch - only yellow target showing

Hi guys,

I bought this game when it first came out and had a terrible time running the game so I eventually gave up and figured I'd come back to it once there'd been a good run of patches to iron out the issues.

(The issues I had were lack of optimization for quad core and SLI setups).

I've now downloaded the game again (via Steam) and the game won't start.

All I get initially is a black screen with the yellow target graphic in the middle then a complete black screen. I hear my HDD working but after 20 minutes nothing happens.

I've pulled up task manager and can see launcher.exe and GameOverleyUI.exe are running.

I've tried resolving the issue by

1. Verifying game cache files in Steam
2. Using the .NET Framework Cleanup Utility to remove all traces of .NET framework 4 then reinstalling the framework + patches.

None of this has worked.

My specs are:

Intel i7 920
12GB RAM
560ti 1GB
Windows 7 x64 SP1 w/ all updates.

My Steam folder is already set as an exception in my a/v software (ESET smart security) and I'm running 301.24 version of nVidia drivers.

Default

Resolved this by uninstalling all c+ + redistributables from Programs and Features. It seems like I had a newer version installed which COD didn't like.
