Default A$1,000 for a flyable defiant

ok, i've said it ... i'm willing to contriiiiiibute 1,000 big ones to any modeller willing to create a flyable defiant (to 1C standards and acceptance) .. there it is .. 1,000 'A' (aussie) dollars sitting on the table .. I know Russians like a goooooood bet (sorry I stutter when nervous)

The model will need to allow 2 players online - pilot - gunner.

Is anyone else willing to put their 'Hard earned' where flight sim joy lies? (It doesn't have to be a large amount, i'm just crazzzzzzzy, every little bit helps expand a great sim!)

Mate, I would pay that to have a full functioning cockpit in all planes. A grand is bugger all really. There should be enough out there that could easily afford a small amount like that for a hobby.

A bounty system for 3rd party add-ons -interesting! There are a few things I would chip in for but I think this approach would need 1) a bounty interface and 2) the sdk to be released before it could be accomplished.

I respect the cash offer.

But why the Defiant? It was a death trap.

Isn't there a precedent for this? I know for sure I saw some flight-simmers chipping in to get content modelled and added into the old Il-2 series. Can't for the life of me remember where I saw it or the extent of the content that was paid for. Pretty sure it was a bomber, or the cockpits required to make one flyable. I think it might have all folded when it became clear, based on the rates for the completed project, just how much it would cost to get further stuff modelled. Might have been a russian project, anyone else remember that?

This would seem like an ideal 'kickstarter' project. However, I would be very nervous about the follow through of whoever took on the job. Not saying that people can't do it, but I've seen a lot of mods and conversions and whatnot go belly up simply because the people who were doing it lost interest or the project became too big/hard.

That said, I'll put in a few dollars for various projects like this if there were reasonable assurances that they would be completed.
