Default Pro Evolution Soccer or FIFA?

I'm biased here, I love PES. I've played it for over 10 years. Yes, FIFA has better graphics, tons of licensed teams, technically more advanced and is probably more realistic than PES. Still I enjoy PES more, I guess it's the flow of the game and it has personality (bit abstract I know). What's your opinion?

P.S I love master league mode in PES.

I switched between both for a few years, I'd get the demo and my son and I would play them and decide which one was the best for us. A few years back it became clear to us that FIFA was the better game, better flow, more technical, more realistic. EA get a bad rap for churning out the same game each year with new teams, FIFA, Madden etc but for me FIFA has evolved each year and made it worth the investment. Its hard to put a finger on what it does so much better, it just plays better in my opinion though others may disagree its just down to personal preference.

I have to agree that FIFA has come a long way the last 5-6 years, I recently tried the demo on the 360 and compared it to the PES 2012 demo. It was a really close call but I wound up playing the PES demo over and over again and finally ordered it. As you said, it's all personal preference. I remember like 10 years ago, then it was a no-brainer, PES FTW! but I have to say, I'm leaning more and more towards FIFA.

i used tp play FIFA, PES always looked like a 5 vs 5 football field wherre the player could get across really fast. Also PES was more about soloing a guy and managing to pass by 10 defenders, and Fifa was more about passing the ball till you find a breach.

but i havent playd a long time..

Yeah back then PES was all about the gameplay and FIFA seemed to be all about them having the licensed content, at least thats how I remember it. I think Pupo explains it well, in FIFA you tend to build up to a goal, pass it around, probe their defense because particularly in FIFA 12 its easy to lose the ball so there's less instances of dribbling past scores of players. It feels very much like a real match.

If you asked this question 2 years ago I'd have said PES all the way.
But since FIFA 10 I've not bought a PES game. (This makes me a bit sad, I played PES since it was ISS)

It used to be a choice between gameplay(PES) and real teams (FIFA) but Since FIFA 10 the series has really come on gameplay wise. I love the new defence system which makes the old high pressure all out attack tactics used so commonly online, a little easier to combat.

I'm currently playing a lot of FIFA 12 on PS3. Love the new head to head seasons.

Oh man! I almost wanna cancel my PES order now, wish I never started this thread lol! I enjoyed the demo though, thoroughly and I guess that's what counts the most.
