Default AVG Antivirus

Basically ABG anti virus detects rendobj.dll as a virus and deletes it.

To get COD running again you need to

1) disable the virus scan (or exclude the file if anyone can help me there!)

2) Then you need to go to steam right click on COD and go to properties.

3) Goto to the local files Tab

4) Click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Let steam find the missing file and download them again.

***UK_Tree - I was going to post this in your thread but couldn't find it????? Cheers! how did you go getting CoD running?

Bit of a pain but it works! (rem, ember to enable your AV when your finished playing!!!

Cheers

The Mods either delete or lock all my threads these days mate, but yes i had to disable AVg that was the only way round it, Ive had a quick play about but my FPS was terrible, I'll try and mess about later. First impressions - not good.

You can add the file as an exception.
1) open AVG
2) Click on Tools along the top.
3) Select Advanced Settings
4) Select PUP Exceptions
5) Add rendobj.dll
6) click apply then ok
7) Launch CoD

I switched from AVG after years of using it exclusively, to Microsoft AV which is, in my opinion, much better and without ads, not to mention being free as well.

+1 on the thanks.

You could always go to Resident Shield in AVG menu and add Cliffs Of Dover as an exception.

1. Download Avast Free - lower mem foot print / lower false positives for games.
1. Uninstall AVG
2. Reboot
3. Install Avast Free Version
4. No need to reboot if running Win7
5. Enjoy gaming
