How to reinstall?

Due to some weird issues where if I pick a Rotol Hurri,or some of the single missions, my game hangs at 98%, resulting in having to kill it with the task manager, I am going to try a reinstall.
The first step was to verify the game files, to get rid f the beta.That didn't fix it.
Now in steam I have deleted local content, and am redownloading.
What happens with the 1c softclub folder in my documents? If I delete that will it be re created?

I don't know about the 1c folder for sure. I do know that I'm in the proces of reinstalling CLOD again as well...

OK when you delete the 1c softclub folder in seems to get remade when you start CoD.Whats seriously weird though is the game still hangs at 98% when ever I try to choose the rotol Hurricane...

Weird problem.
Did u delete the steamapp/CloD folder too?
When was this problem introduced?

Didn't delete steamapp/CoD, just local content.Might try again and delete the lot.I reckon the problem must always have been there, because some of the single missions (not all) have always hung at 98% loading as well.Maybe the original install was corrupt in some way.

Early on there was a problem where slower cards couldn't load grass in many missions..try disabling it (if you haven't allready) and see if that fixes the problem.
Turning off shadows,roads etc is probably worth trying too..I know my 4850 struggled immensly with such options and often the game would hang at 98% when loading missions.

I can understand what you are saying Warhound but I have no problems with the game other than specifically not being able to pick a Rotol Hurricane (just this plane) and just some of the single missions! I am trying a complete reinstall now to see if that fixes it.

After a steam uninstall there's still a shitload of stuff (even missions me think) under program files. U might need fresh ones.

OK so far I have:
Deleted the 1c folder
Deleted local content in steam
Deleted il2 from steammapps
Problem still persists, game hangs at 98% when choosing the rotol Hurri, and only some single missions.
Obviously there is some c*ap hiding somewhere, that I reckon nothing short of a fresh windows 7 re install will fix! And I'm not going to do that just now...

Think I fixed it! After the last install every time I hit 'Esc' in game the game crashed, and I had to kill the .exe by task manager. I noticed steam cloud was on again, disabled that, and now everything seems to work, the rotol Hurri, single missions etc.Bloody weird...
