Default Connection to Steam lost Exiting -HELP-

I know other people are having this problem but I have not found a solution for it yet!
I am unable to create missions because when I go to test them in multiplayer I get the following:
Connection to Steam lost Exiting
Server failed to connect to steam
Firstly I never had this problem until the last steam COD patch of maybe it was a Steam update that caused the problem not sure!.
Secondly it is unlikely to be hardware specific as I have just replaced my Main board recently and still have the same problem !
And yes i have all the latest drivers and windows updates.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards
xpupx

All ports mentioned in the Steam FAQ open?

Can you host in a Lobby section instead of Server section? Lobby is for those behind a router (if ports are not forwarded I assume).

I have the same problem and went through the whole troubleshooting with steam Tech support without any results.
They finally told me that they can't do anything and that I have to ask the 1C tech support for help.

steam tech support roughly told me this:
Do a selective startup
Disable firewall
Disable AV
Uninstall AV
Reset Steam to Default settings by clearing it.

None of these was a solution.

Repka or ATAG and others do not have this issue. A guy at sukhoi.ru who had same issue wrote:

There is a solution. The issue is that your provider allocated IP for you but not a right gateway. A friend of mine who is good in IT changed my internet settings from "auto" to what was needed and changed preferred DNS of the server. This fixed the issue. Do not know details as I am not an IT guy.
Try contacting your provider for correct gateway and DNS settings for Steam server or invite a good IT specialist to fix the issue.

I started to have this issue at my home PC only after I stopped paying my provider for a so called "external" IP. Now I have only internal LAN IP and can host only in Lobby but not in Server section from my home PC.

Regarding firewall: when I had an external IP I still could not host when I changed existing rules in Avast firewall. I had to completely delete the old rules for both Steam and CloD and create new rules for them which were absolutely empty (allowing all and every connection). Only after this it worked. As BigRepa mentioned CloD makes a lot of outgoing connections that must not be blocked.

PS. Also try searching and asking in the MP section of the forum. Some server guys who may have a solution do not read this section.
