I was monitoring the server today and looked at the Network in Resource Monitor.
First, there were connections to Launcher, that look like addresses of players, but no players were connected to the game. About 5 or 6 connections were open and active to differing addresses. When I looked them up, they were all to hosting providers. So it looks like Launcher maintains open connections, even though no one is there. Then, I noticed a new address pop on... http://monster.game-monitor.com And then disappear... I look it up and it's a game catalog service.. That charges for some services. Just thought I'd let you all know. Don't know if I care about this yet. |

That's normal Krupinski. Since the game is on steam there's all sorts of resources available to track your server for you. Measuring game rank (steam rank etc) helps advertise your server for you through steam. Obviously, this is much more popular to games that have 1000's of servers like CSS, TF2, etc., but don't worry about it as some sort of attack. It's more or less a service that publicizes your server for you.
See my sig for example. One of the services that do it for you. |
