Default FPS test video on switching from GTX275 to GTX580

I've upgraded the GPU, and recorded CoD's performance from an outside camera focusing in the screen while fraps shows fps, this was done in that way to not punish performances by recording video.

Original Pc:

I7 920 overclocked to 3,33Ghz
6Gb RAM DDR3
Asus Geforce GTX275
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits

Test 1: just before changing the GPU, with the current medium video settings I had.

Test 2: GTX275 replaced by Asus Geforce GTX580, drivers updated, same CoD video settings.

Test 3: raised all CoD settings to maximum and recording at the same time with fraps to try to kill fps.

Looks like I'll be getting the next single-core nvidia card

The 570 does an OK job, but lacks the extra memory and speed.

Oh c'mon Tuckie, this ill cost me a fortune!!!! (I fly SLI)

Great test, thanks for posting! (and all options, up to 1080 quality 340Mb )

I will keep it for future reference

By the way, now I saw it till the end, I am amazed by the quality of the graphics detail they put in the objects (the details on the iron gate are awesome) and sad at the same time because they wasted so much energy for something nobody will ever see (flying at 2000meters). What an amazing waste of ressources!!!!
But the day we are able to fly will full details (in 2-3years) this will be awesome!!!

Good on you. That card looks like a beast and runs like it too. Wish I had a larger piggybank.

Enjoy.

My Video card is HD5870, in Lodon I can only get 27FPS if every thing set to medium and 24FPS everything set to max @1680X1050 with v1.02.14821. the GTX580 can really make such big difference?

IMO a single card of anything doesnt give enough performance at max settings.
I have 4 x 5870 and get 40>70 FPS everything maxed in London and 100>250FPS any where else. Though like his video with the 580 at max settings, I get the same occasional hiccup.

Im thinking of upgrading to 4 x 580 3GB cards and a 990X CPU shortly that will last me another 2 years until the next gen CPU's and GPUs are well established. I might hangout for the NV 68 or ATI 79 series depending if info starts leaking about the next gen launch in the next 6 weeks or not.

When 1C get SLI sorted and tweak the last bits of deep code Luthier talked about these cards should handle everything including DX11 when it comes out. The Next Gen GPUs on 28nm are a completely new architecture for both ATI and NV so it will take a good 6months to a year from release to properly sort drivers and have the highend cards on the market. Roadmaps for following gen after next one are 2013+ so expect then next Gen cards to go through mid cycle refresh like the 480>580 and 5870>6870 in late 2012.

P.S. you will get quite a few more FPS from overclocking that 920 to 4Ghz too.
