Looks bloody good Mac, cheers I'll be definately watching this.
Haven't seen many war films based in Norway (save for heroes of telemark and 633 squadron) so this will be a decent addition.
Have to get McQ and Kavs take on it too.

Funnily enough I watched a new WW2 pic last week set in Norway. Age Of Heroes with Danny Dyer and Sean Bean. Pretty decent for a low budget film. All about the birth of the British Commandos under Ian Fleming and their first mission in Norway to steal some german radar plans.
Worth a watch for hour and a half

Yes guys, if you watch this movie you won't be disappointed. It's an amazing true story brought to life. I think I'll watch it again.

McQ, KAV, have you seen it? I'm sure it's a famous story in Norway.

Yea, I've seen it. And I'm pretty sure KAV saw it too. It's one of the biggest succeses of norwegian film ever, not saying that that means much... Norwegian movies tend to be pretty "niche-oriented". This one is pretty good though. There were a cpl of resistance groups trying to get back on the occupants, and the group that portrayed here was trained in England/Scotland and under command from London. The other groups were of a more "rouge" character and did sabotage on german targets even before '43. The most famous was "Pellegruppa" and "Osvaldgruppa".
The movie "Max Manus" is absolutely worth a cpl of hours attention. Brave men and nice pics from Oslo. The cast is pretty okay too, and it is fairly true to the actual history. One of the men; Gunnar Sønsteby aka Nr.24 or "Kjakan", is actually still alive and kicking. I saw him in town a cpl of weeks ago.
Enjoy!

Yes I have seen it.
Dunno how to continue this post without sounding like an a__hole......

My problem is, working in both theater and film myself, there are some real poor workmanship in this. And as of being a WWII enthusiast, the poor workmanship in addition to telling great heros story in a crappy way I almost puked while I saw it the first (and only) time.

My personal view is: CRAP

I am glad the rest of you guys liked it ..........

No say what you mean Kav!!! Least your honest mate. I'd expect you look at this very critically as it is but this is a proper 'Mark Kermode on transformers' review!(YouTube it!!)
You talk as if you've written and directed films.....oh hang on....hehe!!!
