Default Catalyst 11.5 1CC Intro Video and Game Map Blank

I just installed the Catalyst 11.5 driver for a Sapphire 5770 and I get no video when playing the intro 1CC video as well as when I load a game, the map is blank. The same is true for Crossworlds as well.

I've included the screen shots to show you what I see. I can go to the hero menu and it shows normally, but cannot see the map.

I'll need to revert 11.4 (or maybe back to 11.3), I've always had flickering issues with the 5770 since I've had it with The Legend (it goes away if I go into the hero menu and mouse over inventory items) and a little bit of the video stuttering during movies such as sailing to and from the islands or flying in the balloon. Not sure what to do there as I've played with all the 3D settings (i.e. triple buffering / no triple buffering, V-SYNC / no V-SYNC, etc.). My older 9800GT didn't have those problems, but its now sitting in its box.

Anyway thought I'd let people know in case they wanted to try the 11.5 drivers.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, btw!

Matt

Default 11.5a Doesn't work either

I just tried the 11.5a hotfix from ati.com and it does the same as 11.5.

Default 11.4 Didn't work for me either, but 11.3 does

I hadn't installed 11.4 before and I got the same results as 11.5 (and 11.5a). I had 11.3 installed previously and so reinstalling 11.3 has the 1CC video and the map displayed again.

Whew!

Has anyone else had issues with the 5770 and 11.4 or 11.5/11.5a?

Matt

Smile

For quite some time I had windows XP installed and everything was fine.
Then I upgraded to windows 7 and everything was still fine.
Then few days ago I installed newest Ati drivers... (I have Ati Radeon HD 4800)
And that's when the exact same thing happened to me. I struggled for days, but all I had to do is turn off the "Antialiasing" option in KB, and everything returned to normal. (Except, off course, now I play without antialiasing)

Under the release notes for 11.5 under "known issues" it says "Rendering issues for Kings Bounty".

Default Good call - didn't think to check release notes...

Good call - didn't think to check the release notes. The release notes for 11.4 do not mention any King's Bounty Windows 7 issues that I saw, but I had the same problem as 11.5 - wierd.

Anyone know the status of the listed King's Bounty 11.5 issue?

Default Hmmm... I think I have a different problem...

Okay, well after doing some research it seems like the flickering problem I've had has been going on since either 10.7 or 10.8.

Here are two threads covering the flickering problem:

http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33967845

and

http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1438407

The release notes of 11.5 state rendering issues in King's Bounty, however, I'm thinking these are the rendering issues stated in the above two links since it's been a known problem for over a year now with the ATI drivers.

I'll see if I can find any more threads, but it appears that the blank screen issue posted above may be a new issue that I'm not sure they are aware of.

I'm going to open a support ticket for it at sapphiretech, but I don't have time to open up my computer and get the P/N, S/N, and SKU NO for my card (I did a rebate and so I used the UPC from the box) right now...

Default This May Work for You - Didn't for Me

Here's a thread on Good Ol' Games with the same issue and a possible resolution:

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/king_s_b...ant_flickering

It didn't work for me, but give it a shot if you're using 11.5 and have this issue...

Default 11.6 Fixes the Blank Map Problem

Well it looks like 11.6 fixes the blank map problem!

Flickering is still present although doesn't seem as bad.

I just cursor over items in my inventory to get the flickering to go away.

Not sure if ATI will fix this problem since it has be present since 10.8.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what you get when using ATI cards with the Catalyst "driver".
