Default HD6950 & 6970 blue lines error

As part of my current correspondence with AMD’s tech support to try to resolve the ‘blue lines’ issue, this is an attempt to show them how prevalent this problem is with users of HD6950 and HD6970 graphics cards. Their latest reply indicated that they were unable to replicate the problem, and this may provide some indication of how common it is with these cards, or if it is perhaps experienced by users of other cards as well.

It may also prove useful if you voted for option 2 to provide some indication of how you may have resolved the problem, and possibly a brief system spec (for those that don’t put this in their sig) and whether you re-installed Windows when you installed the card if you have never experienced the problem.

For those who may be wondering what the issue at hand is, have a look at the screen shot attached (borrowed from RocketDog’s earlier post). Hopefully this may lead to a solution from AMD if it is a driver issue.

Probably they tested flying on altitudes where the lines are not visible. Maybe you need to send them a track that reproduces the issue.

No one reported not having this issue with 6950 and 6970 within 2.5 months. So it is definitely there.

Default Update

Hi All

Just an update; herewith the latest response from AMD after I sent them a link to this poll. I cannot answer their question about whether the developer is aware of the problem – has luthier ever mentioned it at all? I would also encourage anyone else with the problem who hasn’t yet reported it to do so with the link provided.

Your service request : SR #{ticketno:[**********]} has been reviewed and updated.

Response and Service Request History:

We will keep track of this issue, and I suggest having other users report this problem to the driver team at:

http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D27E29B0E3

If you have sent the developer a support request ticket have they informed you that this problem only occurs on the cards mentioned?

In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service request reference intact.

Best regards,
AMD Global Customer Care

It would be nice to know if 1C is aware of the issue, and if they have some idea as to its cause. In any event, the more complaints that are logged, the better the chance there is of getting a fix.

I have them and have had them from game launch! It used to work to force 8x AF but since they patched the lines are back and nothing seems to fix it. I did post about this in one of the first error threads... Seems like nobody really cares...

I have the problem and it's been there since I upgraded from a 5870 to a 6970, which was roughly when the first beta patch was released. I used the link to send the details to ATI/AMD.

Same here running a 6950 and Win 7 in Dx10 mode. Pretty sure i had them with a 4850 and win XP aswell.
Wanted to take some screenshots to show when they appear and when not ,but steam's integrated SS key won't work.
They don't show on the ground, they don't show at high altitudes, mostly it's at lower alts and most noticeable when the FOV is fully zoomed in. The "Isles of Doom" map is great for showcasing it as the lines cut right through the mountains which makes em stand out.

Ps. It's better to host the screens elsewhere and link them as opposed to adding them as an attachment since the ATI guys can't see attachments unless they make an account here and login. (which is unlikely)
