Default multiplayer-how do i know if i hunt ai or a real person?

today i decided to try multiplayer again after a few weeks of singleplayer frustration-enjoyment experience.

i played about two hours on a full real server with 10players online.
i was chasing dots which dissapeared after a couple of minutes.i was chasing bombers which turned out to be ai planes.shot down several of them, but never saw one plane which was actually flown by a human.
this expierence was even more frustrating than playing single player with the porked ai, where one at least know that you deal with a computer rendered enemy.
wouldnt it be better to have no ai in multiplayer, at least at the moment?flying in the channel map, with 10 players online, you have to fly some time to discover an enemy.but if that enemy is then only ai, its dissapointing to waste your ammo to on that target.
if there where no ai planes, sure the map would be pretty empty, but at least you would know to hunt a real challenging enemy, if you spottet one.

What you're looking for is dogfight rooms. Seems most are coop mission rooms right now and then you'll need AI to fill up.

There is no AI on Repka #3 server. Feel free to join.

On Repka #1 if you see a single engine fighter you can be 100% sure it is driven by a human pilot. Most of bombers are AI of cause as they are added on purpose because not many players fly bombers.

You can always chose a server without AI if you like. It is good to have various servers for different tastes.

And otherwise movement, I've played quite a lot vs a mix of AI and humans, but after a short while it's obvious who's brain is made from iron and which ones arent.

AI in servers is an absolute need, given the few online players. And you could never hope to find a formation of 12 human Heinkels nowadays (neither in Il2 1946 to be fair, apart from virtual wars), so it ain't BoB really without blessed AI's...

Back to the OP:

- Sometimes, when you engage an AI fighter it oscillates very quickly his wings as if he couldn't decide where to turn. Humans don't do that.
- If a fighter detects you in difficult visibility conditions (e.g. against ground), it's most probably an AI.
- A fast series of tonneaux declares itself as an AI fighter (although I've seen this only in offline as of today).
- Formations of bombers (from 2 bombers upwards) are 100% AI. Even if a human bomber tries to join it (but very few humans fly a bomber presently), normally he cannot keep pace.

With experience you will easily tell an AI from a human, most of times at least ... .

Cheers,
Insuber

+1

I think the possibility ot have AIs spawning is a great new feature compard to the original IL2.

Regarding AI fighters, my experience on the REKA server (islands) Bf109 AIs is that they are fantastic and very hard to hit, do all tricks of the trade and as soon as they gained separation distance, run away like hell. Very good performance!

Half of the time syndicate has AI..the other half it does not! We played last night in the dark with about 10 guys and no AI for 4 hours.

Like the guy above said..once you play for a week you will easily be able to tell the AI from a human. You won't see him long before he shoots ya down!
