Done and tried..this is really appreciated by me and im sure by the whole community...

Most of my flying time is Online and im afraid to say ClOd has ruined me, it runs ok for me and a bit part of my game is the eye candy...

Il2 just looks old now though im sure il dabble here and there but CoD with all its faults is an enjoyable experience for me...Sounds and correct FM's would be the icing on the cake..Future planesets etc will come im sure and make this game good for another 10 years modded or unmodded

I hear ya

I can enjoy games with lesser graphics if the gameplay is good... but not the other way around

UP3.0RC really makes me appreciate HSFX 5! Feels like a big step backwards to me. Like it was made just for guys brand new to modding Il-2.

It isn't bad .. a few bugs.. The install was a piece of cake.. I just deleted my 2.0 that was still on my drive, coped my stock 4.10.1 from D to C and it went in smooth. I have to say the new look is nice.. and the sim looks good.. The P-51 seems to me to be a lot smoother.. A LOT smoother.. handling wise. The new P-51 cockpit is interesting.. it will take a little getting used to, the new lights and the look of glass on the gauges.. but it looks good. The cockpit lights aren't as bright.. I like the fact that that solitary pipper is gone when cycling through the K-14 sights.. If you recall in one mod pack.. I don't recall which one it started in but in HSFX 5.0 the stationary dot at the center of the Mustang pipper stays when cycling through the K-14 sights very annoying.. I think the sim overall looks better with 3.0.. (but for some reason UP usually does..) I did notice a bug on the 109s.

For some reason there is a smoke trail on the 109s.. and those are AI 109s so it isnt a mixture issue.. but that's what it looks like. almost.. but the lines are too defined to be mixture.

The jury is still out on the guns.. I need to fly it more before I make any assessments of that.. the same with performance, but so far overall it isnt bad.. The interface is totally different.. so is the GME..

Thanks for the effort guys.

That's no a bug per se, it's full boost exhaust smoke. Problem with it is that it's too dark, ideally it would only be just visible, and dissapate sooner.

That's a bug.. The AI should be able to get full boost without that.. and klook at the trail... it is too even.. too angular...

AFAIK, smoke at full power is quite documented on late war german acft, due to use of synthetic fuel that did not burn well. Now i don't have any old movie handy, but maybe someone can link one that shows the effet ?

Now IL2 defaut effects are quite poor, and this feature would need a better effect, but it's expected in a soon later release, if i read well http://ultrapack.il2war.com/page/readme

BC,

I notice the same brown smoke trail in AI in 4.10.1 vanila, when they make some maneuvers or hit some altitude:

It is eventually - i think that are related with altitude.

@ Sokol1. I think it has to do with planes with carburettor engines, like the Merlin engine of the Hurricanes in your pictures. As an example: the German Daimler-Benz engines have direct fuel injection, so it can take much more negative Gs. Carburettor engines can't. The fuel won't reach the engine so the combustion isn't good, so you get dirty thick smoke and the engine may stop.

It is possible that it is related with altitude too, because on high altitude is less oxygen, so the combustion will be different.
